Proving time after time that dance truly knows no age.
In 2012, Diva founder Michele Mandella was teaching Zumba and dance classes when one of her Zumba members asked if maybe the adults could have a tap class. Maybe for exercise ... or something to do. So they found a teacher and tap they did. They even decided to do the recital ... and three competitions. When they took home platinum awards across the board, they were all hooked. That year at the studio recital, Michele received a special award from the studio owner who referred to Michele as the "Queen Diva."
And the name stuck.
In the first few years, the Divas operated as a program and called many dance studios their home. In 2019, Michele and her daughter, Emma Wendt, decided to branch out on their own and Diva Dance School was born. Throughout the years, Diva Dance School has featured many area dancers; added to their curriculum and remained solely an adult dance studio.
Currently, the school teaches several levels of Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Burlesque, Hip Hop and Tap.
Each year in June, the school hosts a performance showcasing the talent of the Divas and invites several other adult dance schools to join them.
In 2023, Diva Dance School moved into their own beautiful new studio in downtown Warren, Massachusetts.
Dance Competitions
Our performance team has done many competitions throughout New England over the years. Typically we perform between 5 and 10 numbers at competition in the adult category. We have won many awards including multiple Special Judges' Awards.
Friendships
There is nothing more amazing than being with a group of woman who completely support each other. That's the definition of a Diva.
